Seasonal Allergies?

Spring is here, cherry blossoms are blooming, and your allergies are back! It's hard to appreciate the beautiful flowers and greenery outside when you're sniffling and sneezing every minute. Here are a couple of things you can do to keep allergies at bay:

1) Cut out dairy - when your allergies are acting up, take dairy out of your diet and you'll start to notice a big difference in your congestion. Dairy will thicken mucus and you're left with an even stuffier nose and phlegm that just stays in your body! Instead of having milk, try a nut milk (almond, cashew) or coconut milk. Say no to the wine and cheese night (difficult I know!) and try to cut down on baked goods when your allergies act up!

2) Build up your immune system - When our immune system is overworked, we are more susceptible to overreacting to allergens in our environment. Its important that we build up our immune system through eating lots of whole foods and greens to give our body the nutrients it needs to function optimally. I like to take Genuine Health's Vegan Greens+ O to make sure I get enough nutrients to fight through the pollen!

Good luck out there!
